Celebration of the life of Malcolm Doley
Malcolm Doley, who founded the LSSO and was its conductor for 25 years, passed
away on 29 October 2019.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2.15pm on Saturday 8 February 2020 at St
Thomas' Church, Claughton, where the Orchestra performed for many years.
Malcolm's wife, daughter and son would be delighted if any old members felt able to
attend. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Village Hall, giving people an
opportunity to reconnect and reminisce.

Some golden oldies...
Here are some vinyl records (they’re round black plastic discs with a groove on each side, they
play on a record player... oh never mind you’re much too young if I have to explain!). These are
the album covers from 1974, 1976, 1977 and 1985 (go on, see if you’re listed on the back...)
