LYSO - The Wreck of the Titanic - Friday 2nd July 2010, 7.30pm - Preston Guild Hall
The Wreck of the Titanic is a project based on the sinking of the Titanic, which will run through spring and summer 2010 and
features a large scale concert at the Guild Hall, Preston on Friday 2 July.
This is a collaborative project led by the Lancashire, Cumbria, and Liverpool Music Services, and the Liverpool Maritime
Museum.
A particularly significant part of the project is a major commission from the composer David Bedford called 'The Wreck of the
Titanic' for professional ensemble, Youth Orchestra, Wider Opportunities groups and Youth Choruses, to be performed at the
concert on the 2 July.
The concert will feature the LYSO, the Lancashire Sinfonietta, a massed chorus formed from Lancashire secondary schools,

Titanic underscored by music composed by students using ICT.
